This week PBS is airing the Ken Burns: National Parks – America’s Best Idea series and two days in I can’t say enough about it. The history and archival footage (inclusive of early photography) intermixed with modern video footage is spellbinding. The quality of this documentary is as good as it gets. One thing is certain, wildlife encounters invigorate the soul. Witnessing wildlife in it’s natural environment is nothing short of awe inspiring. This weekend in Yosemite proved to be quite a bit of fun. Fresh snow was not on tap, but the heavy snow from last weekend had the park buried. Road work was still underway along the northern loop of the roadway through the valley. With much anticipation I’m off to Yosemite for the weekend. Roughly 1 year ago today I had the good fortune of visiting Yosemite valley after a fresh snow. Although it’s not looking likely that I’ll have the same luck this weekend it should still be a fun trip with numerous photo opportunities.
