This time of year I really cherish the fog here in San Francisco and am always looking for interesting photo opportunities. One of my favorite subjects to photograph is the coastal fog as it envelops the trees. If I’m not photographing this phenomenon I’m often telling my wife how I love the look of the fog in the trees as we go on our walks together. This has become a running joke between us as I say it

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show. ~Andrew Wyeth [tags]Yosemite, nature, fine art[/tags]

While I’d like to think I was prepared for Moe’s passing, given his age of 14 and the events surrounding the loss of Curly and Zoe, this proved to be anything but the case. Losing Moe has in many ways been a tougher ordeal to work t
If you’re in the mood for a laugh then I highly recommend watching this comedic over-dub to some great BBC wildlife footage. It’s short, funny and I dare you to watch it just once. I’ve been watching this video as of late to lift my spirits, for reasons I’ll explain in another post.

Amazingly some of the photos scanned date back to the early 1900’s. When I first took on this task it seemed to be straight forward… scan a large quantity of images at high resolution for archival purposes and distribute them to family on hard drives. What
