This past week has been a tough one. Last Monday while away on my shoot at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico I received word that my 16 year old dog Curly passed away. I am a huge softy for dogs and so I have no shame in saying that my week has been a teary one. If you’ll indulge me I’d like to share with you a brief tribute to a best friend I’ll miss dearly.
In 2009 I was very fortunate to have had some incredible photo opportunities. Selecting my best photos from this past year was much more difficult than choosing my best photos of 2008 and 2007. As noted yesterday my Monday photo outing was a lot of fun. I captured some landscape and nature photos that I’m proud to show and others that fell short. It is these botched photos of the day that I wanted to post and discuss this week. Yesterday I posted The Good… a la the theme The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Today I wanted to post what I considered an example of The Bad. If you’re like me you sa
In case you didn’t know today is “Blog Action Day“. In the theme of environmental awareness I’m posting two recent photos that exemplify our day-to-day impact on the environment. Nothing brings social issues to the forefront of thought more so than photography. My challenge to those that read this post… point me to your favorite social documentary photograph highlighting the impact we ha
