One of my fondest memories after hiking through 30 miles of the Pacific Coast Trail through Crater Lake National Park was emerging to see this view. So calm and so serene this sunrise view is one of my personal favorites. In 2003 I was blown away with the news of the first widely published gigapixel image, by Max Lyons. In fact seeing the gigapixel image (comprised of one billion pixels) of Bryce Canyon sparked my interest in digital panoramic photography (see Mastering Digital Panoramic Photography). Today I’m blown away by the news of the first terapixel image (comprised of one trillion pixels). Unlike the more scenic gigapixe
I’m excited to announce that a new photo gallery has been added to my web site. Many of the features may look familiar and that is because the gallery is leveraging the Flickr and Google Maps API. The gallery offers the convenience of navigating by sets or keyword tags. Although I don’t have many images geotagged a select few reveal the location via an embedded map on their respective pages. Most people haven’t received my Yosemite abstracts as well as some of my other Yosemite photos, but I still like them. Really in the world of art isn’t that all that matters? Announcing Slideshow 2007 (Web User Edition) – Flickr Blog I’m interested to see this in action in more than one way. For one it will be nice to see this applied on the Flickr site and it will be neat to see how it may be employed via the Flickr API. In looking at my Flickr site this change is in effect as of
A few weeks ago I discovered a great site called photographyVoter.com, founded by Paul O’Connor. The site is similar to Digg.com, but is squarely focused around photography. For a little more background check out Interview with Paul O’Connor. In case you missed it check out my last recommended photography resource: “Photographer Rights & Education“

Last week on the “Epic Edits Weblog” Brian Auer posted a list of blogs, relating to the topic of photography, as supplied by his readers. There are a lot of great sites in this list and I thought those reading my blog might find them interesting. Enjoy! This is one of my favorite landscape photos. While visiting White Sands National Monument in New Mexico an out of season monsoon rolled through. It transformed the landscape. Walking in the middle of no where with the randomly shifting light something new and amazing seemed to be revealed every few seconds. When I look at this photo I can’t help but be transported back to this moment and get lost in the scene e
