The Big Sur coast is an amazing site to behold with its turquoise water, monolithic spires of ancient rock eroded by constant pounding of surf. Truly an inspiring place for all, but especially for artists. Watching sunsets here is akin to witnessing the unveiling of a new masterpiece every day. The more I review my Big Sur photos the more I want to return. As for this photo it was taken after my Primitive Coast III
The Raygun Gothic Rocketship is one of my favorite public art displays here in San Francisco. Located near Pier 14 on the Embarcadero in downtown San Francisco it sits right on the waterfront and with in view of the historic San Francisco Ferry Building. Every chance I get I like to stop and admire this 40 foot rocket built by Black Rock Arts. If you’re visiting San Francisco or live here be sure to get the mos

This is one of my favorite skyline photographs of downtown San Francisco. The pre-dawn light in combination with the glow of the buildings across downtown made for a special capture. As it turns out over the years this has been a favorite of others who have visited my web site as well. First featured on my web site in 2004 as part of my San Francisco Labyrinths write-up it’s been viewed hundreds of thousands of
It’s hard to believe but it has been 3 years since I was in Los Angeles for ASMP’s Strictly Business 2 event as an attendee absorbing as much as I could about professional photography best business practices. 3 years later I’m returning to LA for ASMP’s Strictly Business 3 event as a guest panelist on new business models. If you’re in the area this weekend and serious about learning more
In 2010 I had a great time behind the camera and I was fortunate to have been present for some amazing moments including the birth of my son (the ultimate experience). While I’ve ranked my best photos in years past (best photos of 2009, best photos of 2008 and best photos of 2007) this year I’m finding it impossible to do. In fact by doing so I may just end up in the dog house as you’ll soon disco
