The news about the efforts of the Bush administration to change the protected status of the American Bald Eagle and removal from the Endangered Species Act spurred my memory of this photo taken back in 2003. Its tough not to look at these birds and think “regal”.
Sadly I find myself continually surprised by some of the changes that get pushed through Washington regarding land and wildlife protection.
