Yesterday was a great day at Icer Air 2007. The ski and snowboard big-air competition was incredibly fun to watch and photograph. I spent my time getting photos of the ski and snowboard big-air competition as well as shooting the activities on the vert ramp. Below are a few samples of photos from Icer Air 2007 and another 64 photos are initially only available at my photo archive. Icer Air 2007 Photo Archive Jumping
This weekend things kickoff at Icer Air 2007 here in San Francisco. World class skiers and snowboarders face off in an extreme sport competition at AT&T Park in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Yesterday I got a chance to take a quick look at the final stages of construction on the main ramp. I think this year the ramp might be even taller than last. Icer Air 2007 starts around 3pm today so if you’re in
Sometimes some of the most beautiful scenery is neatly tucked away out of view just off the side of the road, such was the case with this photo. A leisurely stroll through the forest yielded this view. It was extremely relaxing, the only thing breaking the silence was the sound of rustling leafs as the wind blew through the trees. I found a couple great subjects including this small branch of Aspen leafs stuck in the water. What caught my eye when I first saw this was the droplet of water on the leaf glistening in the sun. The Aspen leafs float
For many in San Francisco Sutro Tower is nothing but an eyesore, but due to the tower’s central location and height its now being employed to help monitor greenhouse gases as part of the California’s aggressive environmental legislation AB 32. The California Greenhouse Gas Emissions Project, a pilot program known as CALGEM, is the brainchild of scientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. They
In case you didn’t know today is “Blog Action Day“. In the theme of environmental awareness I’m posting two recent photos that exemplify our day-to-day impact on the environment. Nothing brings social issues to the forefront of thought more so than photography. My challenge to those that read this post… point me to your favorite social documentary photograph highlighting the impact we ha
San Francisco sunsets vary with the weather, but they’re always stunningly beautiful. This past Monday was no exception. A low lying fog bank was rolling in as the sunset, covering homes in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Heights and Sunset Districts.
