A slightly different take on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. The manner in which this photo was taken is not unlike the technique used in making Half Dome Reflection II, Yosemite. Early morning lighting in this area can be elusive and fast changing, but for the purpose of this photo mid to late morning light seemed to work out for the best. This particular photo has grown on me, but I’m curious how it res
One of the more interesting features off the San Francisco coastline is a small cluster of off shore rock formations near Sutro Baths. Under the right conditions they can take on an ethereal form for someone creatively inclined. For the thousands of birds that reside here nightly it’s just home. Mirror Lake is one of my favorite locations in Yosemite National Park. In fact in the early 90’s I took a photo of this view and became entranced with nature and landscape photography. The photo I took of Mirror Lake then, is now framed and displayed in my office. It is by no means special in comparison to my current work, but it is a constant reminder of my photographic roots that keeps me grounded. I look a

With much anticipation I’m off to Yosemite for the weekend. Roughly 1 year ago today I had the good fortune of visiting Yosemite valley after a fresh snow. Although it’s not looking likely that I’ll have the same luck this weekend it should still be a fun trip with numerous photo opportunities. If you’re in the park this weekend and want to cross paths email me. Happy Leap Day! Bridal Veil Fal
Taken with a 1Ds Mark III and a 24mm Tilt Shift lens this panoramic of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset is comprised of (3) three vertical images. The ability to create seamless panoramics with the 24mm Tilt Shift is quite simple. Shifting the lens from left to center to right you can easily obtain distortion free images that blend together with minimal effort. Golden Gate Bridge Panoramic Sunset [tags]San Francisco,
This is one of my favorite panoramic photos and is comprised of 50 vertical images for a final resolution of roughly 425 megapixels. The thumbnail may not be impressive but if you click through you’ll see just how expansive this area really is. If you have sharp eyes you might just find a helicopter.
