As you might recall in a previous post Swiftcurrent Lake Panoramic, Glacier National Park I was mentioning how fog quickly moved in obscuring the view. Here’s what the view looked like after I relocated to a different location. A few photographers who thought they got up early enough, set up for early morning light only to be shut out by quick forming fog. Sometimes it pays to be an over achiever and wake up to photograph sunrise. Luckily for me in the process I didn’t have any bears assisting me on my photoshoot.

Awesome photo Jim.
Well it was for me, but not for them LOL
They weren’t too happy that the fog rolled in obscuring the view. It was fun watching the fog form and shift shape as the sun rose… of course I can say that because I had no problem getting my photos earlier.
great photos on this website and adivce. thanks for sharing.

Funny, I just returned from a two-week trip to Glacier (and Yellowstone and the Tetons – got married in Glacier Nat’l Park, right there on Swiftcurrent lake), and I noticed a severe paucity of photographers on the entire trip. The wildflowers were in full force in Glacier, and they were amazing. But rarely any photographers at all (and it wasn’t like there weren’t any other tourists… there were!!!). Even on two separate mornings on Swiftcurrent Lake with pristine reflections and nice clouds (especially on the second of the two). Thanks for sharing this great shot.
Congratulations Philip! Glacier would be a fantastic place to get married. I’m surprised that you didn’t see any photographers. They’re usually crawling all over. I look forward to seeing your photos from the trip. Hopefully you took advantage of the sparse numbers of photographers.
Hey Jim, Thanks! I certainly appreciate it. It really was fantastic. I was thrilled to take along my new Canon 5D mkii and some new lenses (made the switch from Nikon) and a new carbon fiber tripod… oh the difference that made! Anyway, I’ll have some shots up soonish on Flickr.
Also, I wanted to say I’ve been following this blog for a while, and it’s chock-full of terrific tips and info. So, thanks for keeping this up, it’s an excellent resource! I’ll have to start commenting here more often…
All the best,
Phil
I can’t wait to see the photos. Glad the blog has been of use. I hope it continues to be a valuable resource. Again congratulations on the new marriage! BTW I’m jealous of the new gear. Who wouldn’t be 🙂
