One thing I love about the prairies of the United States are the incredible clouds. These amazing clouds provide the perfect contrast to the expansive landscape. In addition they always seem to dwarf the terrain providing an interesting size contrast. Perhaps its because such cloudscapes are seldom seen in the same way here in California, but I’m forever attracted to such scenes. In fact in this instance I caught this view out of the corner of my eye while driving to Wyoming and pulled off the road immediately to capture it. It’s tough to pass up such beautiful moments when on the road.
That’s a beauty. I’m a sucker for beautiful blue sky and golden fields.
It’s fun to photograph the sky. I always thought I was nuts for doing it, but then a few years ago I read that Stieglitz photographed clouds and I thought, “Well, he was nuts too, but that’s OK. I’m in good company.”
Love this shot! Especially the contrast of the brown earth and blue sky. I pinned this one on Pinterest.
That is so beautiful! Look at the blue sky. That is stunning! I love it. http://www.delbenson.com
