For your enjoyment a photo of the simple beauty of the desert. While most focus on the iconic dunes of White Sands I’ve grown increasingly fascinated by the islands of life that exist in the meadows between the dunes. A closer look reveals the relationship of the plants to the land and wildlife. My visit to White Sands inspired a couple articles that were recently published on the Digital Photography School site. Fantastic composition. Seems like you must have to pick that place over pretty well and range around widely to find these pristine undiscovered locations. Great eye.
I love the simple composition you so brilliantly came up with, I have been striving for such in my art as of late. It takes a lot of effort in getting to know an area but it is well worth it.
Great shot!
Boyd thanks for the comment. The interesting thing about the desert is knowing how the light will interplay with the features of the land. Whether striving for shadow, texture or color much thought goes into place, time and technical settings to get it just right. I can only imagine the degree of thought that goes into a painting. One thing that is perhaps shared is developing an artistic vision and finding a path that leads to it. My best to you in your creative journey.
Thank you David. The landscape is so vast in this area. One only has to navigate beyond the general comfort area of the casual visitor to find places/moments such as this. One thing I enjoy about White Sands is the aspect of exploration. You never know what you’ll find and its different with each visit.
