Amazing how time flies, it seems like only yesterday that I found Lands End Labyrinth on a scenic outlook overlooking the Golden Gate bridge back in 2004. I stumbled across the labyrinth while walking with my wife just off the Land’s End trail near Mile Rock Beach and later wrote about it, pre-blog, on my web site (see San Francisco Labyrinths). Having kept in touch with Eduardo Aguilera, the artist behind the labyrinth, over the years I was excited to receive word that the labyrinth would be restored and luminaries would be lit in honor of Día de los Muertos. In true San Francisco fashion the weather was unpredictable, but nothing so bad that would keep the spirits down of those that attended the event.
Here are a few samples of the evenings festivities. I’ll have more to share in the coming days on my photo archive site.
