What a great contest! I think I’d like to give the Nikon 85mm/1.4 a go. That would be awesome! I like the idea of a prime lens and using your feet and thinking about the shot rather than just zooming in and out. Thank you!
Great contest. Thanks for doing this. I would like to work with the Nikon 45mm f/2.8D PC-E ED. The mind melts thinking about the creative possibilities.
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II
Thanks!
Whoa, tough call! I’d like to try the 100mm 2.8 Macro or the 24mm TS-E…. I think it’d be the TS-E since landscape is my favorite type of shooting. I want to see how the 24mm TS-E works with my 5D2.
I think I’d be interested in the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II. I’d want to test the waters in wide-angle photography. ;D

Why, the Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8 of course… I really need to try that lens out, see what the big deal is about those lenses
Hey Jim, this is awesome. I can say this is a great service and in fact I have my eyes fixed on 80% of the lenses and a ton of other things as well, but for not if I were to narrow the gap at all i would have to choose the Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR or the Nikon 600mm f/4G ED AF-S VR in any case I would be happy to try most anything. I think this summer I will be renting and borrowing quite a few things, just to see how they fit my system and my style of shooting.
Grindstone Island sits in the St. Lawrence river about 15-20 miles north-east of the mouth of Lake Ontario. I spent my childhood vacations at a little cottage there.
Sadly, its been a few years since I’ve made it to the river. Busy at work, fuel prices, etc all conspired against me to keep me away.
This year, however, I’m intent on making it to the 1000 Islands come hell or high water!
I’m contemplating heading to the river with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS from BorrowLenses. Lake-liners, bald eagles, wind-battered trees, castles, beautiful granite (and much more) would provide an endless array of things for me to point that big ol’ lens at!
In addition, my family will be getting together for a reunion so having this lens would be great for doing some portraits. (though my family is so huge, I’ll probably be using my Sigma 10-20 for the group shots!)
Jim, thanks for the chance to win the week’s rental!

Jim,
I really enjoy your blog! The pictures, are fantastic, of course, but it is the commentary that keeps me reading the RSS feed. I first started following your blog for inspiration for blog ideas involving copyright and trademark. Because I have a love for photography, I plan on working in some posts more related to photography. If you or your readers have any ideas, please let me know through the blog: http://iplitigator.huschblackwell.com. Oh, and I would love to try the Canon 16-35 f/2.8 L II!
I’ve got my eye on the Nikon 105 or 135 2.0. Oh the sweetest that would be that lens! 🙂
Jim,
Thanks for letting us know about this. I’ve been looking at getting a macro lens and thinking about renting one to try out. Even if I don’t win, I’m renting a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro to see how I like it.

Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR
I found your sight through another friend’s blog. Do you have any macro lenses for the Nikon? We are doing Make a Wish with my son in May and we are going to Disney World. I might be back to rent an extra lens for that week. I have a 50mm f 1.8, and a 24-120mm f 3.5. It would be fun to have a couple extra lenses for that week to capture all of our moments!!! I can never have enough photos!!!
Cool contest! I’d love to try the 10.5mm nikon fisheye on my D90! I promise I’ll share pics :O)
Would be interested in trying out the Sigma 10-20mm prior to committing to one for a trip to NZ.

I’d love to try out the Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 AF DX Fisheye. It’d allow me to capture unique views, easily.
I’d like to try the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS and talking about it here: http://wendymples.blogspot.com/2009/04/im-always-ready-for-something-free.html
I’ve never shot with a fisheye, so why not go super wide. I’d be curious to try out the Sigma 8mm fisheye.

I’d like to test out the Canon 70-200L IS 2.8 or the Canon
16-35 L. I’m debating which lens to purchase first.
Nice of you and the Borrow Lenses folks to do this again. I would really like to test drive the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR.
